PEOPLE TODAY.ID _PEMALANG – The Head of Pemalang Police, AKBP Ari Wibowo, Friday (11/2/2022) helped to evacuate the wreck of a fishing boat that suffered a sea accident because it hit a breakwater in the Tanjungsari estuary, Pemalang.
Pemalang Police Chief AKBP Ari Wibowo said the wreck of the fishing boat was split into two, the stern position was in the estuary, while the bow had drifted into the Srengseng river, Tunjungsari, Sugihwaras Village, Pemalang.
“Currently we are evacuating the stern of the boat to a safe location, so as not to block the estuary which is the entry and exit access for fishing boats to the dock,” said the Police Chief.
The Head of the Pemalang Police said he carried out the evacuation process together with fishermen, Polairud Polres Pemalang personnel and Polairud Polda Central Java.
“The evacuation process went smoothly, apart from the hull of the ship, officers and fishermen also evacuated fishing nets and other shiploads,” said the Police Chief.
The Pemalang Police Chief revealed that the fishing boat KM Mandiri Jaya experienced a sea accident when it was about to enter the Tanjungsari estuary, Pemalang, Thursday (10/2/2022).
“Due to bad weather, the captain of the KM Mandiri Jaya boat was unable to process the ship’s motion, so it crashed and hit a breakwater in the estuary,” explained the Police Chief.
“Shortly after the incident, Polairud Polres Pemalang personnel and Polairud Polda Central Java immediately went to the TKP and assisted in evacuating the captain and crew who were still on board the ship,” added the Police Chief. (team)
