RAKYAT TODAY.ID _ INTAN JAYA PAPUA – The SAS PK-FSW type plane loaded with basic necessities and six passengers skidded at Bilorai Sugapa airport, Intan Jaya Regency, on Monday (28/2).
The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Drs. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, SH said the plane that skidded was caused by a burst front tire.
“The plane skidded incident occurred at 08.37 WIT when landing from the direction of Runway 09 at Bilorai Airport, then a distance of about 50 meters from the initial landing point on the runway. The SAS PK-FSW aircraft suffered a front tire burst. So the plane skidded off the right side of the runway,” said Kombes Kamal.
The former South Halmahera Police Chief also said that the small plane was carrying six passengers and basic necessities and building materials. “There were no fatalities or injuries from the accident,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police.
In addition, said Kamal, the plane was still on the airport runway. “The SAS PK-FSW aircraft suffered damage to the propeller engine, a broken front tire and front trunk,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police.
Kombes Kamal explained that flight activities at Bilorai Airport, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency were still running, and received security from the joint TNI-Polri apparatus.
“Flights at Bilorai Airport will continue as usual, joint members of the TNI-Polri there are still carrying out security. The case of the plane skidding has been handled by the Intan Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit,” concluded Pol Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal. (Rambo Kalikopi)
